We created a series of concert animations for Marshmello, an American music producer and DJ, tour experience. Our vision was to design a fun and visually entertaining expression of music.
We leveraged a range of 2D and 3D technologies to create the unique design assets, all built from his iconic helmet. The design directions were inspired by the 1980s, classic video games, and a variety of pop-culture metaphors.
Airlift's animations also played a large role in Marshmello's virtual concert on Fortnite — the game's largest event ever with 10.7 million viewers.
Building on the in-concert experience, a series of print and swag items were produced — further expanding the Marshmello identity.
